Sponsoring Girls' Education in Punjab

Inspired by a visit to a public school in Punjab in 2022, where she met many ambitious young girls, Jaspreet began sponsoring their tuition. Building on this initiative, the Punjabi Women's Network aims to expand the program, extending support to even more girls across the region.

Young girls from at-risk families in Punjab often face financial barriers that force them to abandon their ambitions. Our goal is to bridge this gap, enabling these young girls to overcome socioeconomic obstacles and pursue their goals. By doing so, we empower them to achieve success and seize opportunities for higher education and career development.

For our first International Women’s Month, PWN donated ₹2 Lakh (approximately $3,250 CAD) to Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School in Morinda, Punjab. These funds fully cover the annual tuition of several young girls, giving them the chance to stay in school and continue their education. We were honoured to visit the school in person and meet the intelligent, driven students whose lives will be directly impacted by this support. Their determination and potential were deeply inspiring, a testament to the power of investing in girls’ education. During the school’s year-end celebration, PWN had the opportunity to address the students, encouraging them to dream fearlessly and reminding them that their futures are filled with possibility.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our IWD fundraiser. This is just the beginning. we’re creating pathways for long-term change, one girl at a time.
